About us

Created from experience

TASK Training Academy was founded in 2022 by Rupert Keys , a multi-award-winning landscaper with over 30 years’ experience in the landscape and construction industry.  Rupert is recognised as one of the leading lights in the UK’s landscape and training industry.

Rupert had a long-held ambition to set up a Training Centre of Excellence to provide high-quality training for industry professionals. Having worked in the industry most of his life, he witnessed the lack of training available and felt empowered to do something to make a positive change.

TASK stands as a beacon for practical skills training and with a commitment to excellence in landscaping education, we offer an ideal setting and environment for students to immerse themselves in hands-on learning experiences. As the exclusive independent landscaping training centre in the heart of England, TASK is dedicated to providing accredited courses tailored for the training of professional garden designers, landscapers, installers, and gardeners.

Rupert and the TASK team have partnered with some of the industry’s most highly respected and inspiring organisations, suppliers and experts who are all at the forefront of the industry and can share specialist knowledge in their field with students wishing to learn with TASK .

We aim to nurture a new generation of skilled professionals who can contribute to the horticultural industry's growth and innovation and inspire amateurs to learn something new!

For many years, it has long been a dream to set up a training centre of excellence. I am excited to launch TASK and to offer practical courses and training with real experience that can help support the skills gap prevalent in the UK horticulture industry.

As a designer with over fifty years’ experience, I’m increasingly aware of the need for professional and proficient training throughout the landscape industry. In TASK Rupert Keys has established an Academy that fulfils this need, drawing on experienced professionals from different sectors who are able to pass on their knowledge in a thoroughly accessible and practical way.
