TASK Terms and Conditions

Visitors to our website and course students who have booked courses and events at TASK, will be deemed to have agreed to be bound by the following terms and conditions.  

Please also refer to our Privacy Policy which also governs our website and services.

Bookings

Bookings are subject to the following attendance and cancellation policy:

  • TASK courses, unless specifically stated otherwise in the course information, have a minimum age of 16 years. The suitability of certain courses or events for under 18’s is at our discretion. Participants are required to have a minimum level 2 in English and Maths.

  • Payment in full must be received before the commencement of the course/event. If a student fails to make payment for the course booking, TASK may withdraw the student’s access to the resources and facilities provided by TASK and course accreditation.

  • TASK ‘Industry’ Courses are solely for participants who are working in the landscaping industry and cannot be booked by non-industry members of the public

  • TASK ‘Public’ Courses are solely for members of the public and not participants working in the landscaping industry.

  • Please contact us for booking terms for Bespoke Courses 

  • Bookings made online become a contract when we email you with your booking confirmation

  • A student can only change course with the agreement of TASK

  • All bookings for courses are at the sole discretion of TASK

  • If you need to make any changes to your booking, please contact us and we will confirm if the changes are feasible.

  • Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, the student/guest has 14 days from entering the contract for a service in which to cancel it and receive a full refund of the course fees, unless the course has taken place within 14 days of it being booked.

Cancellations

In the event that you cancel your attendance, the following terms apply:

  • All requests to change course bookings must be made by email at admin@teamacademy.co.uk

  • 7 days or less before an event/course – no refund or transfer

  • More than 7 days but less than 8 weeks – we will try and sell your course/event space.  If the space is sold, we will arrange a transfer to another course/event of the same value.  An admin fee of £15 will be charged for each course space.

  • 8 weeks – 16 weeks – we will transfer you to another course/event of the same value. An admin fee of £15 will be charged for each course space.

  • More than 16 weeks – you can transfer your course/event to another of the same value, at no extra cost

  • If you terminate during a course, you are not entitled to the return of any proportion of the fees.

  • If you cancel, you are welcome to send another person in your place (subject to their qualifications). You will, however, be required to provide us with 72 hour notification of the change along with their name, contact number and email

  • In the event of illness preventing attendance, we will require documentary evidence in order to apply the cancellation policy with discretion.

  • If TASK cancel your course, then you will be offered a transfer to an alternative course date or a refund.  TASK will not be liable for any other costs or expenses that you may incur.  We recommend that all customers seek appropriate travel insurance.

Course Fees and Dates

  • Course fees and dates are quoted at the time of going to print and include VAT at 20%, these will be the advertised prices on the website when you book your course/event

  • We reserve the right to make amendments to fees and dates if relevant

  • TASK Academy reserves the right, under unavoidable circumstances, to alter the timing or content of any course or of the curriculum and to substitute any teacher or instructor or to cancel a course at any time.

  • TASK reserves the right to substitute tutors and provide extra courses if there is staff sickness or a reduction in resources, whether such circumstances were foreseen or not. This list is not exhaustive.

  • All participants will be issued with a TASK attendance certificate on completion of the course

  • Lantra Certificates are issued to Industry participants on the successful completion of Lantra accredited courses which includes a course written multiple choice assessment completed at the end of the course.

Terms and Conditions for Gift Cards

  • TASK Gift Cards are valid for 12 months from issue date.

  • All Gift Cards are non-transferable, non refundable and cannot be exchanged for cash

  • Lost, stolen or destroyed Gift Cards will not be exchanged or refunded

  • A Gift Card can be redeemed against the cost of a course from TASK Academy. It can make up a part payment for a course, but no change will be given if the value is more than the cost of the course.

  • Once a course is booked and paid for with a Gift Card, that gift card is considered redeemed.

  • Bookings are subject to availability on TASK courses

Covid-19 – additional terms

If you have or suspect you have, coronavirus symptoms, or have been advised to isolate as a result of contact with someone who has, or may have coronavirus symptoms, please get in contact with us. For the safety of all our students and staff, you must not visit TASK.

If we are unable to run your course on the scheduled date, due to the outbreak of coronavirus or government measures, we will offer to

  • Either move your booking to a rescheduled course date, or an alternative course (to the same value)

  • Or refund to the amount of your course booking

Communications, photography and media

  • By purchasing courses and events on this website, you agree to your data being used by TASK for future communications about the course or event.  We will not share your data with any third parties (see our privacy policy for further information)

  • By taking part in a course or event you agree to having your photograph taken and being used by TASK media channels including www.taskacademy.co.uk  and social media, print and email campaigns.  Occasionally images maybe selected for use by third parties for PR and marketing purposes.

  • You can remove consent for your photography images to be used by emailing hello@taskacademy.co.uk with removal of photography consent in the subject heading. Please also include the name or event and date you were in attendance at TASK.

Data Protection
Information about how TASK collects and processes personal data and the lawful basis under which that personal data is collected and processed can be found in TASK’s Privacy Policy, which is available on the website. Students are responsible for keeping TASK informed of any changes to their personal data/information.

Conduct

  • Students are expected to conduct themselves at all times in accordance with TASK’s rules, policies, procedures and codes of practice

  • We ask that all students arrive punctually for courses out of consideration for other students and tutors

  • If a student is considered by TASK Academy to be unsuitable for any reason, the student may be required to leave, either immediately or within a specified time.

Health and Safety

Smoking is not permitted anywhere inside the buildings.

Please wear appropriate clothing and practical shoes for the courses and refer to course joining instructions for specific health and safety clothing recommendations.

Students with Reasonable Adjustments
Students are required to disclose their reasonable adjustment information to TASK whether physical and/or learning, a minimum of 14 days prior to registering for the course to enable the appropriate support to be put in place.
Damages
We reserve the right to charge guests/students for the cost of rectifying damage, caused by the deliberate negligent or reckless act, omission, default or neglect of the students/guests or sub-contractors to TASK property or structure. Should we be aware of this damage after guests/students have departed, we reserve the right to make a charge to guests/students credit/debit card, or send an invoice for the amount required to remedy any damage caused to the registered address. 

Property
All property that is brought to TASK is brought entirely at your own risk.

TASK Academy Ltd shall be under no liability whatsoever, for any loss, injury or damage to students or their property, whether in respect of any neglect, act or omission by the academy, it’s associates or employees.
