Introduction to Clipblox Construction – Rethinking Landscape Walls with Modern Method Construction

£245.00

Duration: 1 day
Dates: 17th March 2026
Start time: 9.30am End time: 3.30pm

This practical and thought-provoking 1 day course introduces landscapers to a new way of thinking about construction within the landscape sector. For decades, the industry has relied on labour-intensive, physically demanding methods with very little innovation aimed at making work easier, safer or more sustainable for those on site.

Clipblox changes that.

Clipblox is a Modern Method of Construction (MMC) permanent shuttering system for building pool walls, ponds and structural landscape features. It is designed to reduce physical strain, speed up installation, protect long-term careers, and empower lower-skilled workers with a repeatable, teachable system that can be learned in a single day.

This course is suitable for all skill levels, from experienced landscapers looking to work smarter, to newcomers who want to gain confidence working with a modern construction system. Delivered by TASK Academy Limited in partnership with Orbro, this course focuses as much on mindset and industry shift as it does on practical skills.

Level: Open to all (Beginner to Intermediate)

COURSE OVERVIEW

This 1 day course provides an introduction to Clipblox and the wider role of MMC in modern landscaping. You will explore why the landscape industry has been slow to adopt construction-led systems, how this has impacted productivity and career longevity, and how Clipblox offers a practical solution.

The course covers the fundamentals of the Clipblox system, including components, setting out, reinforcement and concrete placement, alongside hands-on practical sessions. By the end of the day, participants will understand how Clipblox can simplify complex builds, reduce reliance on highly skilled labour, and transform how landscape structures are delivered on site.

 LEARNING OUTCOMES

By the end of the course, students will:

  • Understand the limitations of traditional construction methods within landscaping

  • Describe what MMC is and explain why the landscape industry has been slow to adopt it

  • Explain how Clipblox supports career longevity by reducing physical strain and repetitive heavy work

  • Identify how MMC systems can protect businesses from skills shortages

  • Understand how Clipblox empowers lower-skilled workers through a simple, repeatable system

  • Identify the components of the Clipblox system and explain how they function as permanent shuttering

  • Describe suitable applications for Clipblox including swimming pools, ponds and structural landscape walls

  • Understand basic setting-out and foundation principles for Clipblox construction

  • Identify reinforcement requirements and correct positioning within the system

  • Understand concrete specifications, pouring methods and curing considerations

  • Construct a section of Clipblox wall during the practical workshop

  • Recognise common mistakes and explain how they can be avoided

  • Leave with the confidence to specify, price and introduce Clipblox into live projects

LEARNING FORMAT

Classroom discussion focused on industry mindset and MMC principles, combined with practical hands-on workshop sessions using the Clipblox system.

TASK Academy Limited and Orbro Partner to Champion Proven MMC Systems in Landscaping

The landscape industry has long relied on labour-intensive construction methods that place heavy physical demands on workers and limit productivity. While other construction sectors have embraced Modern Methods of Construction (MMC), landscaping has seen relatively few systems designed to genuinely make site work easier, safer and more sustainable.

TASK Academy Limited, in partnership with Orbro, is addressing this gap with the launch of a new one-day training course introducing Clipblox — a permanent shuttering MMC system for building pool walls, ponds and structural landscape features.

Developed by SolidPOOL in France, Clipblox is a globally proven construction system. It has been in use for over 24 years across 33 countries, supporting a wide range of projects including swimming pools, retaining walls, tunnels, spas, ponds and natural swim ponds.

Orbro has used the Clipblox system daily for more than 17 years, primarily for swimming pool construction, while also delivering complex retaining walls and specialist landscape structures. This hands-on experience underpins the training, ensuring the course is rooted in real-world application rather than theory alone.

The one-day course focuses on more than installation technique. It addresses the mindset shift required within landscaping — moving away from physically demanding, time-consuming methods towards systems that protect long-term careers, speed up build times and reduce reliance on highly skilled labour.

Clipblox’s modular permanent shuttering design allows workers of all skill levels to construct accurate, repeatable structural walls. The system can be taught in a single day, empowering lower-skilled operatives while helping businesses respond to ongoing skills shortages.

“Landscapers are being asked to deliver increasingly complex structures using methods that haven’t fundamentally evolved,” says TASK Academy. “Proven MMC systems like Clipblox show how the industry can work smarter — extending careers, improving consistency and making structural landscaping more accessible.”

Delivered jointly by TASK Academy and Orbro, the course combines practical, hands-on learning with an introduction to MMC principles, giving attendees the confidence to specify and install Clipblox on live projects.

The course is open to all skill levels and is aimed at landscapers, designers and contractors ready to embrace a smarter, more sustainable approach to construction.

This is not a new idea — it’s a proven system, finally being adopted by the landscape sector.
