Your Future in Landscaping - Campaign Hub

One industry. More opportunities. A stronger future.

Who will be doing the work in 10 years' time?

It's a question that sparked an important conversation at GroundsFest 2026, where Task Academy's Rupert Keys joined industry colleagues to discuss the future of skills and attracting new talent into landscaping.

But we don't want that conversation to end there.

#YourFutureInLandscaping is a new, industry-wide campaign led by Task Academy, bringing together landscaping businesses, garden designers, suppliers, training providers and professional organisations to inspire the next generation.

Our aim is simple: to show young people just how varied, creative, skilled and rewarding a career in landscaping can be.

And we need the industry's help to make it happen.

There's more to landscaping than you might think

When young people consider their career options, landscaping isn't always at the top of the list.

Yet our industry offers an extraordinary range of opportunities.

From horticulture, landscape construction and garden design to project management, technology, logistics, marketing, finance and business development, there are careers to suit all kinds of talents and interests.

Landscaping also has a vital role to play in creating greener, healthier and more resilient places.

We want more young people, parents, teachers and careers advisers to understand the opportunities available and see landscaping as an industry worth exploring.

How can your business get involved?

You don't need a big budget or a dedicated recruitment team to make a difference.

Here are five simple ways to support #YourFutureInLandscaping.

1. Share your story

Introduce your team, highlight career journeys or show the variety of roles within your business. Share on social media using #YourFutureInLandscaping and tag Task Academy.

2. Give someone their first opportunity

Could you offer an apprenticeship, work experience placement, summer job or introductory day on site?

3. Become a mentor

Sometimes a little guidance and encouragement from someone already working in the industry can make all the difference.

4. Connect with schools and colleges

Volunteer for a careers talk, attend a careers fair or invite students to discover what your business does.

5. Open your doors

Share a behind-the-scenes video, host a visit or demonstrate a skill. Help young people see what working in landscaping really looks like.

Start with one action. Share it. Encourage someone else to get involved.
